About Lucy
I am an applied health services researcher with over ten years' experience working across the University of Plymouth and University of Exeter. My research focuses on addressing health inequalities, with a particular interest in mental health and co-produced research with underserved populations.
I have extensive experience of working collaboratively with people with lived experience to design and deliver research, including leading youth advisory groups and co-producing projects in adult social care. My work spans multiple settings and populations, including children and young people, adults with learning disabilities, and individuals experiencing complex mental health and social challenges.
Methodologically, I specialise in mixed-methods research and realist evaluation, with experience across the full research lifecycle, and continue to develop a programme of work focused on improving access to and effectiveness of services to address health inequalities.
Alongside my UK-based research, I have contributed to global health work aimed at improving health for women and children in Uganda, supporting the development of interventions and collaborative partnerships. This work reflects my broader interest in tackling health inequalities across diverse contexts.
I am actively involved in building collaborative networks, supporting research capacity in practice settings, and contributing to funding applications. I am committed to producing inclusive, impactful research that informs service development and improves outcomes.
