Teaching
I hold a PGCE ,聽PGCAP 700 and聽really enjoyed the GTA聽聽experience. I lectured for 11 years on both BA Hons Applied Arts and BA Hons Contemporary Craft聽Degrees . I was Acting Head聽Of Programm BA Hons Spatial Design for one year.聽
I delivered Specialist , bespoke and guest invited programmes聽under聽Iron Arts , the business I founded to deliver a range of Fine Art, Blacksmith craft , design and solution development packages聽to a range of clients and invited guests. Including Devon Rural Crafts, Dartmoor Arts, Schools and Colleges in Devon and Cornwall, independent crafts providers such as The Old Kennels at Dunkerswell, Carpenter Oak, and Sticklepath Museum, one of the last remaining water powered聽forges and tilt hammers .
聽My teaching philosophy was always聽to engage people in learning ,聽absorbing聽skills and knowledge to聽use聽in the reflection of their own solutions and outcomes. Work of a high order needs a wide range of skills , knowledge,聽solutions and tactics -聽never grown overnight, but are聽fun to try !聽
