Mel was a much loved and respected member of University staff who sadly passed away in 2018. Mel’s family have launched this award to celebrate Mel’s passion for Plymouth and its inspiring and passionate students.
Eligibility
The Mel Joyner award will support students at the University of Plymouth who are underrepresented in higher education.
To be eligible you must show how you are making a contribution to University Life. This could be through a society, a local community project or by bringing people together. Students can apply themselves or be nominated by a staff member or fellow student. The award will be in the region of £500.

Submit your statement (or nomination statement), maximum 400 words, by emailing the application form togiving@plymouth.ac.uk. Please fill out your name (or nominee’s name), course and contact details. The statement should address how you or your nominee meet the criteria and are making a contribution to University life.
