We鈥檙e marking 20 years presenting the 探花视频鈥檚 arts and culture programme for audiences, previously as Peninsula Arts and The Arts Institute.

September 2024 marks our 20th anniversary as one of the South West鈥檚 major providers of arts and culture. We look forward to expanding our programme into ever-more impactful spaces, producing and hosting over 100 events each year for everyone鈥檚 learning and enjoyment. We鈥檙e dedicated to showcasing our academics and their research to the wider world, while also hosting major thinkers and makers from outside the University. We have a terrific line-up for 2024鈥25, and look forward to welcoming you to campus to experience and take part in our ongoing arts and cultural conversation.

Spring 2025: The Personal and Communal

This spring, our programme is dedicated to exploring 鈥楾he Personal and the Communal鈥. The line between the two is ever blurry as American poet Walt Whitman expressed over 150 years ago: 鈥淚 am large, I contain multitudes.鈥
Personal symbolisms which rely on communal images are ever present in south-west artist Danny Fox鈥檚 first institutional exhibition, Kingdom, showing in the Levinsky Gallery, as well as within his first book of poetry, Bootscraper, which has been launched to coincide with the exhibition.
Personal, lived experience gets communal treatment when the Human Library welcomes everyone to explore stereotypes and 'un-judge' as we aspire to be part of a more equal, inclusive and diverse world.
We are also proud to present MayFest and other student-led Performance , showcasing the individual and collective talents of our students.
See our What's on page for details of all upcoming events.
As always, we look forward to welcoming you!

The Archives: 2004鈥24

We鈥檝e produced and hosted over 2,000 public facing events over the past 20 years. Looking back, our most recent spring鈥搒ummer 2024 season saw a celebration of creativity designed to inspire, challenge and entertain. Highlights included University academics' work and creative collaborations in Resonating Bodies, Green Makers | Materials | Objects and SOAK Live Art. We hosted the major UK touring exhibition, Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize in The Levinsky Gallery, and in The House, Rendez-Vous Dance鈥檚 The Monocle and Richard Chappell Dance鈥檚 Hot House. The acclaimed Musica Viva concert series marked the 100th anniversary of Rhapsody in Blue with the formation of The London Gershwin.
